Do you have a free day on Kangaroo Island, and wanting something fun to do? Discover nature & wildlife and Kangaroo Island wine & local produce on this fantastic new day tour. Apart from its amazing wildlife, Kangaroo Island is well known for its thriving food & wine industry and your local guide will introduce you to some of the island’s leading creators where you will taste some local Kangaroo Island produce. This tour departs from Penneshaw, American River and Kingscote hotels, and you will need to select your departure option at time of booking.
This is a half day tasting tour designed for those with limited time on Kangaroo Island. Pick ups are available from the airport or hotel. Visit Clifford's Honey where you can taste the different varieties of honey, Emu Ridge Eucalyptus Distillery and learn about how the eucalyptus oil is distilled, Bay of Shoals Winery for a wine tasting and Kangaroo Island Spirits for a gin tasting. We also stop at Emu Bay Lavender Farm for morning/afternoon tea, if time permits. A great way to explore local produce!

This masterclass has been designed by the distillers at Australia’s first boutique gin distillery. Your gin education and blending session will be instructed by an experienced member of the KIS Team and includes a brief history of gin and the Kangaroo Island Spirits' story. Explore the extensive range of traditional and native botanical distillates that you can select from to create your very own 200 ml bottle of gin that you will be able to take home to enjoy, as well as a 50ml sample so that you can enjoy the fruits of your labour immediately in a refreshing G&T.

At Emu Ridge Eucalyptus Distillery you can purchase the amazing range of eucalyptus products. Enjoy a tasting of Colony Cove, Kangaroo Island’s very own cider.
Travel back into Kingscote and enjoy a delicious, fresh and flavoursome lunch at popular Cactus - Cafe.
After lunch, we’ll take a short drive to the Bay of Shoals Wines overlooking the picturesque vineyards and sheltered bay.

Discover and decide for yourself with a tasting of their boutique gin and liqueurs.
After an enjoyable day, we will take you back to your hotel, or to the Airport/Ferry.
***Unfortunately this tour is not suitable for cruise ship passengers arriving to the island because we will finish later than the last ship tender***
This deluxe touring package includes boutique accommodation at Sea Dragon Kangaroo Island and deluxe touring vehicles with a maximum of 10 people. We visit all major attractions at Flinders Chase National Park and Seal Bay as well as visit four local producers on the island, varying from honey and olive oil production, through to Gin or a small micro brewery.
Kangaroo Island has plenty to offer everyone. Enjoy a full day out visiting a number of outlets on the island while taking in spectacular scenery along the way. Visit Clifford's Honey where you will learn about the Ligurian Bee, then stop next at the Eucalyptus Distillery to taste the local eucalyptus and enjoy some cider tastings. Head to Emu Bay Lavender Farm for morning tea. Enjoy wine tasting at Bay of Shoal Wines while taking in the breathtaking views. Enjoy lunch at either Kangaroo Island Fresh Seafood or Cactus Cafe, before heading to Kangaroo Island Spirits to experience some award winning gin. If time permits, we will stop at one more winery along the way before heading back to your accommodation.
FULL DAY ITINERARY: The first stop on your journey will be Dudley Wine. Here you will find a selection of their quality wine and soak up the spectacular view across Backstairs Passage.
A short drive up the road will take you to False Cape Wines. The rustic charm and idyllic setting among the gum trees and vineyard makes this cellar door a great place for a glass of wine and homemade pies and platters!
We will then travel back to Cygnet River , "Capital of the Wine Industry" in Kangaroo Island. Here we will visit The Islander Estate at Cygnet River and taste the only 5-star James Halliday rated wines of the the island.
We will visit the cellar door at Spring Roads Wines. Their vineyard was established in 1994 on a small sheep property about 7km west of Kingscote.
We will then travel back to Kingscote and we will stop at Bay of Shoals Wines, overlooking the picturesque vineyards and sheltered bay.
After an enjoyable day, we will take you back to your hotel, or to the Airport/Ferry

Venture into the rugged Kangaroo Island countryside to discover one of the Island’s most scenic and historic places. Enjoy the views of local bushlands and beaches as you are afforded the opportunity to learn about the areas amazing maritime history and the tough living conditions of the early settlers.
Visit the Cape Willoughby Conservation Park and South Australia’s first lighthouse and don’t forget to keep an eye out for those Kangaroos! Further your exploration of the Cape with a scenic drive through Antechamber Bay and Chapman River, taking note of the varied landscapes that exist on the island and getting a glimpse of local island life.
After getting in some great views and history you’ll get to sit and relax and try some delightful local wines as you learn about local wineries within Kangaroo Island and the Fleurieu Peninsula.
